excluded_apps_info_text_blacklist Each application selected in the setting above won't use the internal VPN. This won't apply the DNS servers to them either.
excluded_apps_info_text_whitelist Only applications selected in the setting above will use the internal VPN. Apps not selected thus won't use the DNS servers set by you.
exported_dns_queries [x] queries exported.
fail_fast Fail fast
feature_pin_protection You can pin-protect every action which starts/stops/pauses/resumes DNSChanger. Each time one of those is to be executed a dialog shows asking for the pin set by you.

This can be used for hindering the phones user from interfering with the app if the user isn't to tech-savvy. It was developed to stop children from stopping the app.
To choose what to protect open the settings.
feature_shortcuts Using this app you can create shortcuts on your home screen. These shortcuts contain DNS settings and change your DNS servers by clicking them without needing you to open the app.
This makes them particular convenient if you want to quickly cycle between different servers - just create a bunch of the shortcuts and let them rest on your home screen.

You can configure the behavior of them in the settings.
feature_tiles For quick access you can place tiles in you notification area. They can be used to start/stop and pause/resume DNSChanger.

To add them drag down the notification area, click on the pen and drag them upwards by long-clicking them.

info_importing_rules_app_unusable The App is now importing the rules. During that time you won't be able to use the app as the internal database is locked for the duration.
info_text_dns DNS stands for Domain Name System.

The Domain Name System is used to resolve Domains (google.com, yahoo.com, example.com…) to IP Addresses (192.168.178.1 for example) to communicate over the Internet.

It is one of the most important systems used in IP-based networks.
info_text_how_does_it_work Android allows you to configure DNS servers in the wifi settings - but not for mobile connections (3G, 4G…). This however requires you to use a static IP address, doesn't allow switching easily and won't work with IPv6, among other disadvantages when compared to this app.

This app takes advantage of Androids VPN structure which allows devices to set DNS servers dynamically. To achieve this a local vpn is created which uses the same device as endpoint - this means the vpn connection neither connects to the internet itself, nor is it detectable from outside.
As this dummy-VPN can be started/stopped dynamically it allows for a range of features and automatation. This VPN isn't tapped and no data is read by it. It's just a middle man in changing the DNS servers.
